Man charged with rape and intentional strangulation in Spalding

A 50-year-old man has been charged with raping a woman and two counts of intentional strangulation.

Zbigniew Kaczmaek, of Carrington Road, Spalding, was arrested on December 15.

He was interviewed, charged and remanded to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday December 19).

Police say the charges are in relation to an incident that happened in Spalding on the day of the arrest.

The woman in question is described as being ‘over 16 years old’.

Police have a dedicated page advising victims of sexual assault how to report incidents to them.

A force spokesman said: “If you’ve been the victim of rape or sexual assault, please report it to us as soon as possible.

“Even if you’re not 100 per cent sure, we want to hear from you so that we can make sure you’re safe.

“If you’re not ready to talk to the police just yet, that’s OK.”
