Spalding man Darren Kirk died of stab wound to the chest
A man killed in Spalding at the end of last year died of a stab wound to the chest.
Darren Kirk (52) died after an incident at his flat in Cygnet Court on December 20.
An inquest to determine the circumstances of his death was opened by Acting Senior Coroner Paul Smith on Thursday.
The hearing determined that the clinical cause of death was a stab wound to the chest - and that Mr Kirk had been identified by Samantha Costello, his partner.
The hearing was adjourned until June, where the full circumstances will be explored.
Wayne Rule (45), of Cygnet Court in Spalding has been charged with Mr Kirk's murder.
He appeared Lincoln Crown Court in December for a preliminary hearing and is due to return for a plea and case management hearing in March.
Mr Rule is also accused of attempted murder of Mark Stone (46) after an alleged serious assault in Bowditch Road on the same night.
