Spalding man fined for spitting in Abbey Passage
A Spalding man has been fined for spitting in the town centre.
Ellis Newton (20), who lived in Edward Road according to court documents, was charged with spitting on the ground in Abbey Passage, Spalding, on August 17, 2021. The act breached the public spaces protection order (PSPO) which covers the area.
In a social media post South Holland District Council states: “Ellis Newton was handed a £75 FPN (fixed penalty notice) by our Community Warden for spitting in Spalding town centre.
“After pleading not guilty, Mr Newton failed to attend court last Friday (June 2) and now has a total of £465 to pay.”
The council’s tweet quipped: “Someone's spitting feathers”
