Man jailed for 28 months after admitting burglaries in Spalding, Donington and Essex

A man who carried out three house burglaries during a two month crime spree was jailed for 28 months.

Paulius Strabeika, 27, of Holbeach Road, Spalding, was remanded into custody earlier this year after he pleaded guilty to two domestic house burglaries in Lincolnshire during July.

Sentencing was adjourned until December after he was charged with another domestic house burglary in Essex.

His case was sent to Chelmsford Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to another domestic burglary at an address in Mount Crescent, Brentwood, Essex, on 30 August this year.

A hearing at Lincoln Crown Court was told Strabeika had previously pleaded guilty to stealing household items to a value unknown from a property in Chaldean Way, Spalding, on 6 July this year.

He has also admitted taking footwear, toiletries and other household items from a house in Chestnut Avenue, Donington, on 25 July 2023.

All the offences faced by Strabeika were transferred to Lincoln Crown Court for sentence.

The court heard Strabeika had been remanded into custody at Peterborough Prison since his arrest for the Lincolnshire offences and he had now pleaded guilty to all the matters he faced.

His sentence was adjourned for the preparation of a pre-sentence report on him by the Probation Service.

But Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight imposed an immediate jail term of two years and four months on Strabeika.

The sentence was made up of two consecutive eight month jail terms for the Lincolnshire burglaries and 12 months imprisonment for the Essex burglary.
