‘Swiftival’ hosted by Palmers Ale House and Kitchen in Long Sutton is set to bring fans together and celebrate the pop star’s UK tour
Organisers hope a four day Taylor Swift festival will bring fans together and celebrate the singer’s UK tour in style.
Palmers Ale House and Kitchen in Long Sutton is gearing up to host a ‘Swiftival’ from Thursday, June 13, until Sunday, June 15.
Superfan Sophie Holden, who is landlady and organiser of the event, said: “The idea started as a joke but we then realised with her tour coming to the UK, there was an opportunity to do it and host a party for lots of people who all love Taylor Swift.
“I have been a massive Taylor Swift fan since forever. My dad and I were just talking about how loads of her song titles would make great beer names, and it just kind of spiralled from there.”
The fun will commence with a bracelet making workshop on Thursday afternoon from 4pm until 7pm and an Eras tour drink-a-long between 7pm and 10.30pm.
Some of the other activities visitors can get stuck into over the weekend include musical bingo, a Taylor Swift quiz with cash prizes, lyrical analysis workshop, a scavenger hunt around Long Sutton based on lyrics from Taylor Swift songs, swiftoke and more.
The whole weekend will feature a Taylor Swift and friends inspired playlist. There will also be decorations, lots of dressing up and photo opportunities, as well as meeting other ‘Swifities’.
Sophie added: “We are quite excited. There’s lots of different things happening and stuff to get involved in.
“We have worked with various breweries across the UK to get Taylor Swift inspired beers and the whole event has a beer festival vibe.
“The last day of our event will be held on Fathers Day, so if there are any dads out there keen to build better bonds with their daughter, coming to the Taylor Swift festival and having a roast, seems like an ideal way! What middle age man wouldn’t want to do that?”
Tickets for the cocktail paring session cost £25 and the beer pairing is £20.
If you are interested in booking a weekend ticket with beers, it will cost £40 and the cocktail version is £60 – this includes a spot on all of the activities and one drink on the house each day.
The festival is open for all ages and the hope to host similar events in the future.
