McDonald’s branch in Holbeach Road, Spalding reopens with ‘fresh new look’
The Spalding branch of McDonald’s has reopened this morning (Tuesday) after a near-six week makeover.
The Holbeach Road fast food restaurant, owned and run by franchisee Martin Redhead, has had a new look as part of a series of changes to the busy site, which has been closed since Wednesday October 16.
The revamp is part of the chain’s ‘Convenience of the Future’ programme and aims to make it quicker and easier for customers to get their orders. There is now a separate collection point for couriers, while visitors are being promised a ‘fresh new look’ for the dining area.
The changes have also involved a rejig of the behind the scenes space — with an aim to making it a ‘more relaxing and comfortable space’ for the staff.
Mr Redhead, who owns and operates eight McDonald’s restaurants in Lincolnshire, said: “I’m proud to reinvest in our Spalding restaurant - especially as McDonald’s celebrates its 50th anniversary in the UK this year.
“The dining area is now more contemporary, separating collection points for our dine-in customers and our couriers. It’s exciting to see the fresh new look and feel of our Spalding restaurant and I’m confident the changes will benefit everyone.”
The changes are also geared towards making it easier to balance demand coming from the app, drive-thru customers, walk-in diners and couriers.
The site is near to the newly-revamped A16/A151 roundabout — and some critics have bemoaned the lack of a pedestrian footbridge to make it safer to access McDonald’s and beyond by foot.
