Spalding Model Tractor Show attracts more than 700 people - with organisers over the moon

Organisers were ‘over the moon’ with the success of the latest Spalding Model Tractor Show.

The bi-annual event saw more than 700 revellers visit Springfields Exhibition Centre on Sunday, while the trade stalls - which saw more than 100 sellers - sold out.

After organising the event for 35 years, Colin and Tim Boor stepped down with Chris Edwards, Liz Taylor, Dan Hewitt and Kerry Gooden putting the show on for the first time.

“It went brilliantly,” Chris said. “We anticipated around 500 through the door and we got over 700.

“It beat all expectations. It was a brilliant day and everyone went away happy.

“A couple of stallholders had record-breaking takings as well. We were over the moon.”

The organisers attempted to reach a new audience with an online promotion and leaflets distributed to local tractor dealers.

“We saw a lot of new faces, people who’ve never been before,” Chris added. “And they left with smiles on their faces.”

The next event is already planned in for October 1.
