Cows were loose in Morton playground

A moo-ving sight greeted villagers this morning when cows were loose in a playground.

People living in the Hill View Gardens area of Morton were surprised to find the herd munching on the grass around the residential area’s play ground.

Luckily there was no beef for residents as the farmer and his dog quickly moved the herd onto pastures new.

Morton and Hanthorpe Parish Council clerk Nicholas Walker had received reports of the incident earlier today.

He said: “We are a rural village and these things happen. In the summer we have sheep in the lanes or loose horses - it’s all part and parcel of living in the country.”
