Spalding power cut affecting more than 1,000 homes

More than 1,000 homes in Spalding are without electricity this lunch time due to a network fault.

Engineers are currently working to restore the supplies - and hope to have homes reconnected by 1.30pm.

Originally almost 2,000 properties were left without power - but the National Grid now estimates the number to be 1,048.

It says the reason for the issue was a 'fault on the high voltage network'.

A statement on the National Grid website said: "The incident was raised at 12:02pm this afternoon and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible. We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you."
