MP Sir John Hayes hits back at Ben & Jerry's over to-do list for Suella Braverman
MP Sir John Hayes has hit back at Ben & Jerry's after it tweeted a to-do list for the new Home Secretary.
The ice cream company's UK Twitter account posted a list on Tuesday outlining a number of objectives for Suella Braverman, who had just been handed her new role in Liz Truss' government.
The list featured targets such as 'scrap the Rwanda plan' and 'lift the ban and give people seeking asylum the right to work'.
It also included 'coffee break' and 'ice cream break'.
However, Sir John has been amongst a number of people to hit back at Ben & Jerry's.
In a Daily Telegraph report, he said: "If you want to buy some ice cream you go to an ice cream company, if you want public policy you don't."
Both Ms Braverman and the new prime minister are said to be committed to the Rwanda asylum policy, which is currently being stalled by a high court challenge regarding its legality.
