Nearly 400 people attend Gosberton school fair
Nearly 400 people enjoyed a school fair over the weekend.
More than 380 people went along to Gosberton Academy on Saturday to enjoy the annual summer fair.
The event, which took place on the school grounds, featured a mix of 18 external stallholders and 15 school and PTFA-led stalls. From handmade crafts and sweet treats to games and face painting, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
One of the highlights of the day was the incredible raffle, which offered a dazzling array of prizes. Lucky winners walked away with cash prizes, tickets to see comedian Jason Manford, a variety of luxurious hampers and vouchers for Peterborough United.
Tom Baxter, Executive Headteacher of Gosberton Academy, was delighted with the event’s success.
He said: “It was such a positive day. The weather was perfect, and it was fantastic to see so many people from our school and local community coming together and having fun. Events like this really show the strength of our whole school community.”
All funds raised from the fair will go directly to the school’s PTFA, which supports a wide range of enrichment activities for learners. These include contributions towards school trip costs, a Christmas lunch for all pupils, a pantomime visit and many other memorable experiences throughout the year.
The summer gair follows another successful fundraising effort by the school – a sponsored ealk held earlier this term, which raised over £1,700 to help fund next year’s school trips.
