Former head teacher Alan Hughes returned to Gosberton Clough and Risegate Primary School to officially open a new classroom.

Staff and children enjoyed the official opening of Maple Class, which was completed over the summer holidays.

The room will be the home of the Year 4 children this year, alongside their new teacher Miss Tyers.

Mr Hughes, who was head for 21 years, was joined at the celebration by some of the children from Maple Class, current head Beverley Rooney and chair of governors Justine Bowers.

The event was marked with a special assembly, party treats and great celebration.
