Lifesaving defibrillator installed in Holbeach Bank

A new defibrillator will be providing peace of mind for Holbeach Bank residents.

The lifesaving device has been located at Holbeach Bank Academy thanks to donations from South Holland district councillor Nick Worth, SJJ Electrical and Glen Farrow.

Erica Dean, a midday supervisor at the school, came up with the idea to have a defibrillator in the village after Danish footballer Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest during Euro 2020 earlier this year.

Mrs Dean said: “Being in Holbeach Bank we are quite rural. Holbeach Hospital is our nearest defibrillator. It will give peace of mind for us.”

Coun Worth said: “It is a fabulous facility, although I hope it is never needed.”
