New faces on Sutton Bridge Parish Council
While we are waiting for the results of today's counts, two people know they have secured their seats.
People across the area are being asked to pick who will represent them on Lincolnshire County Council – and to select a Lincolnshire Police and Crime Commissioner.
There were also two vacancies that needed to be filled on Sutton Bridge Parish Council. However, the two candidates have been elected unopposed.
Colin Robinson (66) works for a computer software company and has has experience working overseas.
He also has a passion for amateur dramatics.
He said: “I would like to give something back to the community.
“I am in a position in my life where I can do some good for others.”
He added: “I want to stand up for the people of the parish and get things done.”
He will be joined by fellow newcomer David Bruch (69).
He’s a chartered accountant who works as treasurer for the Curlew Community Centre in Sutton Bridge and Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
Mr Bruch, who moved to Sutton Bridge more than 13 years ago, said: “I want to give something back and be a positive contributor to the council for the good of the parish and community.”
He said he is ready to ‘listen and learn’ and vowed to be a proactive members of the council.
Both new councillors have already attended virtual meetings of the authority.
They will officially begin work as parish councillors on Monday, May 10.
