New Inner Wheel president Carole Cooke is looking forward to the year ahead in her new role.

Mrs Cooke is keen to support causes such as Safe Places and Women's Aid through a range of fundraising activities.

"I want to support local charities, smaller ones rather than larger ones," she said.

Outgoing president Jenny Symonds wanted to wish her successor the best of luck in her new position.

Mrs Symonds said: "It wish Carole the best for her year, and hope she is happy and successful.

"I had a very supportive committee. It's a commitment, but it's a very enjoyable role."

The Inner Wheel meet at Spalding Yacht Club on the second Thursday of every month at 2pm.

Mrs Cooke said the meetings are "very pleasant, where you can meet different people".
