New mental health hub to be launched in Spalding

A new mental health hub is being launched to help patients in Spalding.

Health bosses are now ironing out the details of how the service will work - but have revealed they’ve secured money to deliver extra support in the town.

Lincolnshire was one of a dozen pilot areas to be given cash for a ‘new approach to community mental health support’ - bringing experts together to make life easier for patients. That approach has been tried out in Boston, Gainsborough, Grantham and south of Lincoln.

Chris Higgins, director of operations at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust said: “New local mental health hubs are bringing together experts from the voluntary and community sectors, mental health practitioners and GPs to enable easier access to support and faster treatment for our patients.

“Funding has recently been confirmed to extend this innovative approach to other areas of the county including Spalding and Skegness.”

Health bosses will speak to patients about what they want to see from new services.
