Spalding's new NHS dentist expected to open soon
More than 1,000 patients have pre-registered with a new NHS dentist opening in Spalding.
Winsover Dental Care, in Winsover Road, is scheduled to open on Sunday, and operate from 8am-8pm 365 days a year.
Its operations manager, Nicola Bawden, says two surgeries are ready - but the actual opening date depends on the Care Quality Commission giving the go-ahead.
Three dentists and a therapist have been recruited, along with two qualified dental nurses, three trainee dental nurses and two receptionists.
Nicola said: “We are still recruiting for all positions because it’s the very beginning of a larger project - the project will grow.”
Practice manager Tracey Murrin said: “There is a big need in this area for a dental practice. It is going to be brilliant for the community.”
The premises will see new signs and a new coat of paint, but work has been going on behind the scenes for the last three months.
Winsover Dental Practice is taking online pre-registrations - via winsoverdentalcare.co.uk - and the telephone line will be ready once the practice opens.
Nicola says the pratice will cater for routine care, the normal six monthly patient, and dental emergencies, which is why it will open every day of the year.
