Meet the new owners of Holbeach's Bar Nine 12

Brand new owners are set to take their places behind the bar of a popular Holbeach venue.

Business partners Josh Walker and Cheyenne Young already know Bar Nine 12 very well, with the best friends both having held the role of its manager.

However, when they were given the opportunity to take ownership of the bar, on the site of the former Chequers Hotel, it was a dream come true.

Cheyenne, who has worked in a number of pubs and bars across our area, said: “It seemed too good to be true at first.

“We love this place and we are always here so of course we had always thought about the possibility of it being ours.”

The duo officially take over from current owners Hollie and Lee Summerscales, who opened the venue in 2021, on March 20. They plan to close for a spot of redecorating ahead of reopening around April time.

“Holbeach is a very family orientated place and we want to create a family space here,” Cheyenne said.

“We want it to be somewhere that people know they can feel safe, have a laugh and feel looked after - like a little hub.”

Josh added: “We want to make it more of a community place and put our own stamp on it. We love what Hollie and Lee have done with it but we want to give it a cosy vibe. Somewhere warm and laid back.

“We’ve been lucky as we talk to the customers all the time and are able to ask them what they would do with the place.We want it to be what Holbeach wants.”

Josh is now working on creating a brand new cocktail menu for Bar Nine 12, which will also continue to show sports games.

He said: “All of the cocktails will be hand crafted with purees. We will have some of the classics but also some new flavours. The customers here are very vocal so I know there will tell us what they want.

Cheyenne added: “We are so excited now. Hollie and Lee have offered us loads of help and I know they will always be there. They’ve got so much experience and we feel so lucky to have their support.”
