A children's play area in Surfleet has a new lease of life after fresh safety surfacing was put down.

The play area at Glen Park has been in desperate need of resurfacing in order to remain open and new chippings were put down over the summer holidays.

"I just can't believe it's all happened. It looks so nice," said park volunteer Gaynor Fiske.

The chippings were made possible thanks to funding from Surfleet Parish Council and S.P.A.R.C (Surfleet Play and Recreation Charity), she said.

"This will last between three and five years but a full resurface would be over £50,000," Gaynor added.
