New takeaway Sushi Boba - which also specialises in bubble tea - opens in Spalding

A new business is bringing exciting tastes of Asia to Spalding.

Kenneth Tang and his wife Zoe opened their new takeaway in Red Lion Street this week.

The clue is in the name of the takeaway - Sushi Boba - with freshly made sushi and bubble tea, known as boba, on offer.

The couple, who are from Peterborough, have been bowled over by the feedback they have received so far.

Kenneth, who is front of house, is delighted to be open at last, having taken the keys in the autumn.

He said: “This is our first shop but hopefully we will be able to open more.

“We chose Spalding because we really like the community here - everyone seems so friendly.

“We’re really excited to be open now and we’ve had lots of good feedback on Facebook already.

“We’re doing well so far with a lot of people coming in.”

Zoe has taken on the role of sushi chef, with three years of experience under her belt.

There’s a range of freshly made sushi, with chicken, fish and vegetable, all made on site by Zoe, along with different flavours of bubble tea.

Kenneth continued: “It was really nerve-racking to start something new and we didn’t know what the response would be.

“I know another restaurant in town does sushi but I’m not sure if bubble tea has been on offer before.

“It’s really good to see people coming in and enjoying what we offer.”

Sushi Boba is currently open every day, from 11am to 5:30pm until Christmas Eve.

Opening times may change slightly in the new year, but all updates can be found on the Sushi Boba Facebook page.
