New tank at Fleet motel

A very large special delivery was made to a South Holland cafe last week.

Anglia Motel owner Harold Payne received the 65-ton Chieftain Tank on Friday last week.

The tank, which dates from the 60s and 70s era of military hardware, has been loaned to the motel by the Muckleburgh Collection in Norfolk.

Carters Heavy Haulage had to deliver the tank via Wisbech as the weight of the lorry and tank exceeded that permitted over the Cross Keys Bridge at Sutton Bridge.

Harold is adding the vehicle to his existing military display in order to raise money for the new memorial garden to honour those who died in recent conflicts.
