Springfields expansion in Spalding will see National Farmers Union Mutual Offices re-located
The National Farmers Union Mutual Offices in Spalding are set to be re-located when expansion work begins at Springfields Outlet Shopping and Leisure centre.
Plans for the £14million development at Springfields will see 18 new shops, cafes and restaurants added to the 45-acre Camel Gate site.
South Holland District Council granted permission for the NFU offices to be moved to facilitate those plans back in 2019.
Now, a new application has been submitted in order to prove that work taking place is in keeping with the original agreement.
A concrete timetable for the re-location is yet to be confirmed, but Springfields bosses hope to have their upgrades completed by next year.
Date-stamped photographs included in the new application show work taking place at the NFU site, located between Camel Gate and Roman Bank.
The expansion will also see an office used by Springfields Horticultural Society demolished to make way for new stores.
It will create 350 jobs and see Springfields pump £200,000 into Spalding town centre.
