NHS worker Heidi has lost almost two stones
A practice nurse manager used to putting others first has lost nearly two stone in weight after concentrating on herself for once.
Heidi Skells, who works at Moulton Medical Centre and currently the Springfields Covid Vaccination Centre in Spalding, has lost almost two stone in five months under a weight loss programme.
Busy mum Heidi joined Helen Webster's WW (Weight Watchers reimagined) workshop at Tonic Health in Spalding last October via the NHS's ‘One You’ referral programme.
Members joining this way can have access to 12 weeks' free at WW along with other areas of health support.
Heidi’s husband was taken ill and through 2019 and most of 2020 she put all her energy into supporting him and their family through his treatment and recovery, while continuing to work at the practice.
It wasn’t until late Autumn that she realised she has focused everything on her family and had forgotten her own health and wellbeing.
She felt very unhealthy, unfit, tired and was experiencing joint pain. As an ambassador for ‘One You’ at her practice, she knew the time was right to put herself first and joined up.
To date, Heidi is 26lbs lighter and is loving everything about herself. Her mind-set clicked on the onset and she embraced everything about WW.
She joined local online fitness groups to help her move more and loves them. She has a walking buddy and engages with the WW app and Helen's Facebook group page where she gets all the support she needs.
Heidi is also working at a coronavirus vaccination centre, where her practice works alongside other surgeries delivering jabs to the local community.
Her husband and sons volunteer as car park marshals and her daughter is inside the centre, supporting patients on arrival and after vaccination.
