Holbeach’s Nicole Goose sets up Elocin Elizabeth Co business
A woman ‘obsessed with headbands’ has made her hobby into a small business making unique and quirky hair accessories.
Nicole Goose (25), from Holbeach, set up Elocin Elizabeth Co – her first name spelt backwards followed by her middle name – at the end of July.
Attending craft fairs such as the Farmer’s Market at Lakes and Lawns camp site, Fleet, she wanted to bring more unusual designs that she was unable to find herself in shops or online.
Mrs Goose said: “I only started on July 30 so I have really not been going long.
“Headbands are the main thing I make at the moment.
“I recently got a sewing machine so I will start making scrunchies, dog bandanas and lanyards.”
The quirky headbands have a 1940s twist-knot style with bright material – featuring pop art and animals all in a range of funky colours.
Mrs Goose said: “I have always loved textiles and love doing the creative thing.
“The reason I do it is I am obsessed with headbands and wear one every day.
“I looked online to see what’s out there but there was not something quirky or unique – usually just flower patterns.
“I thought, it is something fun so I’ll give it a go.”
Although she enjoys her hobby as a sideline she isn’t planning to go full time just yet.
“It is a side thing, a hobby, not my main thing but I really enjoy it,” she added.
“I am going to craft fairs around the area and currently selling on Etsy – I get all my material on Etsy so I am helping other small businesses through my small business.”
Hairbands and scrunchies can be matched in design and there are also options for customer’s canine friends.
She said: “I like to see people wearing them and matching them up with their pets.
“My favourites are the cow print and ice-cream design.”
