Lincolnshire Police continue to investigate surge of graffiti incidents in Spalding town centre

Police say they are continuing to investigate the surge of graffiti incidents which have blighted a town centre - but says CCTV footage has no ‘evidential value’.

Unsightly tags and political messages have appeared on buildings across the town centre including South Holland District Council offices, The Bull and Monkie and the former Calthrops buildings in Market Place.

Police have now confirmed the investigation has CCTV footage but added: “There is none of evidential value as there are no identifying features to be gleaned from that particular CCTV.”

Lincolnshire police are again appealing for help to bring the offenders to justice.

A spokesman said: “Police continue to work in partnership with South Holland District Council to investigate reports of graffiti in the Spalding area.

“We are looking at all available lines of enquiries but encourage anyone who has any information on this subject to contact either the local policing team at Spalding or the South Holland Community Safety Team.

“If you identify any graffiti you suspect to be new please ensure this is reported asap to allow enquiries into identifying the culprit to be expedited.

“We will work tirelessly to bring to justice those impact our communities with this unacceptable behaviour.”
