No trains running through Spalding due to industrial action
No trains will be running through Spalding on Saturday - due to industrial action.
East Midlands Railway (EMR)have confirmed that the Lincoln-Peterborough service - which passes through the town - will not be operational.
The service will also not take place on Wednesday, October 5, and Saturday, October 8, while EMR will operate a reduced service on Thursday and Friday of next week.
Industrial action has caused disruption to rail journeys throughout the summer as the long-running pay dispute between a number of unions and Network Rail continues.
Now passengers are being advised to check timetables prior to all journeys and to only travel by train if they dem their trip absolutely necessary.
Will Rogers, managing director at East Midlands Railway, said: “As a result of strike action being taken by multiple unions across the country, we will be operating a reduced service on strike days, and on October 5, unfortunately no EMR services will run at all.
“We have worked hard to provide as many services as safely possible but it is a complicated situation with our timetables being impacted differently depending on which union is on strike.
“That is why we are strongly advising customers to plan ahead and only travel by rail if absolutely necessary on strike days.
