‘Noisy’ resurfacing work in Crowland to start soon
Resurfacing work in a town centre is set to start later this month.
Motorists are set to face road closures and diversion routes in Crowland, whilst Lincolnshire County Council carry out work in the area from Monday, April 28.
The scheme is set to address surface issues on West Street, South Street to West Bank and Hall Street/East Street. The work is scheduled to end on Friday, June 2.
Workers will lay the new surfacing during five days (between 7.30am and 5pm) and 19 nights (8pm to 6am). There will be no weekend working.
The council has stated its crew will need to use ‘noisy’ equipment, but has reassured residents the night-shift machinery is fitted with noise suppressants and will be switched off when not in use.
A spokesperson also stated: “Where night working is happening, we will do our utmost to carry out the noisiest elements of the works as early in each shift as possible.”
Due to the resurfacing work diversion routes have been put in place.
