Onions shed onto the A17 at Gedney

Hundreds of onions have been shed from a lorry onto the A17 at Gedney.

The escaped vegetables have been spotted - and smelled - by motorists on the busy road near the turning to Fleet Hargate and close to the Chestnuts Tea Room and Garden centre.

The onions can currently been seen on both sides of the road but, odour aside, are not affecting traffic.

One resident was seen sweeping them away from his property at the side of the road.
