Spalding Guardian and Lincolnshire Free Press Education Awards will celebrate pupils and teachers
Tonight (Thursday) sees the seventh Spalding Guardian and Lincolnshire Free Press Education Awards take place at Springfield Events and Conference Centre in Spalding.
Shortlisted for the the Primary School of the Year category at the ticket-only event are Spalding’s Wygate Park Academy, Kirton and Clough and Risegate.
The three secondary school nominations are Spalding High, Spalding Grammar and Spalding Academy.
The Pre-School of the Year winner will be one of either Long Sutton’s Rainbow Nursery, Sutton Bridge’s Smartie Pants Day Nursery or Spalding’s Sunflower Lodge.
The Secondary Student of the Year award is between Georgie Van Dyke of Spalding High and Somridho Bhattacharya and Jack Wheatley, both of Spalding Grammar.
Primary Pupil of the Year is between Lucas Devaney of Gosberton Academy and Brooke Aris and Madison Hudson from Tydd St Mary.
Secondary School Teacher finalists are Miss Barrett and Mrs Dawkins of Spalding Grammar and Mrs Hemmingway of Spalding Academy.
Mr Ward of Spalding St Paul’s, Emily Patman of the town’s Ayscoughfee Hall School and Amelia Siddall of Spalding Parish are up for the Primary Teacher award.
Outstanding sporting achievements candidates are Emma Croker and Hannah Willis of Spalding High, and Ollie Parkin of Crowland’s South View Community Primary School.
Vying for the Contribution to the Community award are Bryn Chappell of West Pinchbeck’s St Bartholomew’s Primary School and the Spalding High prefect team.
The Eco Club and Emily Patman, both from Ayscoughfee Hall School, will join Ben Pollard in the final of the Environmental Champion category.
Support Staff Member of the Year finalists are Dee Williamson of Clough and Risegate, Jayne Knight of Spalding High and Steph Bradshaw from Kirton.
