South Lincolnshire Jerry Green Dog Rescue is running socialise and exercise sessions for pets at its Algarkirk site

In their regular column, staff at Jerry Green Dog Rescue are hoping to find a home for loveable Jess and are also offering exercise classes for pets

Are you looking for a group where you can socialise and exercise your dog whilst learning about your dog’s health and wellbeing?

Maybe our new Sit Stay Fit sessions are what you are looking for!

So what is it?

A monthly, hour-long session centred on canine health and well-being. Each month there will be a short talk, demonstration or workshop on a range of topics ranging anywhere from grooming to nutrition followed by a social walk in the area surrounding the centre. There is the option to weigh your dog in each month, a great option for over-weight dogs to chart progress but is also useful to monitor growth in young dogs or simply to just be aware of your dogs weight. These sessions are a great chance to learn about nutrition, socialise your dog and discover creative ways to keep your dog active.

What do we have in store for you and your dog?

We will help you track your dog’s weight by kicking the session off with a woofing weigh-in, our staff will then lead a workshop on topics such as active enrichment, nutrition through life stages and how to body condition score. The session will finish off with a social walk so your dog can burn some energy.

How much is it?

There is no fee but any donations are welcome and greatly appreciated.

Could you offer a home for Jessie?

Hello everyone, my name is Jessica or Jessie for short. I am looking for a new home with understanding dog owners.

A quiet home would be perfect, I do like to lounge on the sofa and snooze and I would love to have access to a garden that I can mooch around in with a 6ft boundary.

I’m very playful and love to fling around toys, you can’t help but smile while watching me!

I’d enjoy having some calm doggy friends to interact with out and about on my walks.

At the moment I would prefer to be the only dog in the home but I may be able to live with small furry animals as long as they are kept in a secure enclosure.

I love spending time with people that I know but I can get sad when I am left, you can start to build up my leaving hours once I’m all settled.

I can live with children aged 16 & over as long as we make friends during visits.
