Jerry Green Dog Rescue appeals for a new home for Conker and offers tips on dog walks in the dark
This week's Man's Best Friend column from Jerry Green Dog Rescue features an appeal for a new home for Conker and tips for walking your pet in the dark.
Hello, my name is Conker. I’m the gentlest soul, I’m only a young lady and I’m looking forward to moving into a home.
I am looking for a family who will show me the ropes to home life, I’d REALLY like to live with another dog to help build my confidence.
It’s important our temperaments match so it would be best if they are steady, calm, easy going and won’t want to engage me in play from the off.
An older companion would be perfect!
I have preference for dogs that are springer spaniel size or bigger, I’m not fussy other than that.
I’m often found curled up in my bed and I’m quiet too so once I’m house trained I suspect I’ll be able to be left for a few hours.
I’d love a garden with a 6ft fence that I can snuffle around in and explore, I like to use my nose!
I can live with children 14 years old (Key Stage 4) and above, though a quiet household with not too many new people coming and going would be great.
I will need a visit over in the home, so you will need to live within an hour of PE20 2BB so they can bring me over.
If you think I would make a brilliant addition to your home then please call the South Lincolnshire team on 01205 260546 or email slincs@jerrygreendogs.org.uk.
Our top tips for walking your dog in the dark
With the darker mornings and nights at this time of year, we often have no other option but to take our dogs out for walks in the dark.
Most dogs won’t be bothered by this, but it is important you take measures to remain a responsible owner and keep your dog and yourself safe when going out in the dark.
