‘Our world will never be the same!’ Family tribute to ‘utterly adored’ Spalding teenager who died after collision on A14 in Cambridgeshire
Tribute has been paid to an ‘utterly adored’ teenager who died following a fatal collision last week.
Spalding resident Morgan James Robert Swann was preparing for a career in the Royal Navy before he sadly lost his life following an incident on the A14 at Horningsea, Cambridge on April 22.
“Our beautiful son was taken from us at the tender age of 19,” said a statement issued by the family via Cambridgeshire Police.
“He is utterly adored by his parents Mark and Sonia, his three sisters Georgia, Ellie and Scarlett, as well as grandparents, uncles, auntie, cousins and godparents, and so loved by his many, many friends.”
Three other people in the vehicle suffered serious injuries.
A lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
“Morgan had passed all his interviews and assessments to secure a place at Britannia Royal Naval College as a Cadet Officer and follow a career as a submariner,” the statement continued.
“He was awaiting a start date to pursue his dream. We are so proud of him.
“Our world will never be the same and we request privacy as we try to come to terms with the unimaginable pain of our loss.”
Police, fire and the ambulance service were to the scene on the A14’s eastbound carriageway at around 9.25pm on April 22.
Cambridgeshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the vehicles in the moments leading up to the incident.
They would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time with dash cam footage.
