Gosberton school wins sports award for PE classes
Gosberton House Academy has been recognised for the strength of its physical education (PE) provision for youngsters.
The school has been awarded the afPE (Association for Physical Education) Quality Mark with distinction for the way that its staff encourages pupils to take part in physical activity.
As well as a certificate and glass trophy, the school also receives the afPE Quality Mark logo to use on its website and letters as well as a place on the association's "Roll of Honour".
Louise Stanton, principal of the school which was judged "Outstanding" by Ofsted in June 2019, said: "We are delighted to receive this wonderful accolade for the quality of our provision.
"Congratulations to our wonderful staff and brilliant children."
A citation for the school's award said: "Leadership in the subject is outstanding and well-supported by the visionary leadership of the head teacher who shares the passion for PE, school sport and physical activity which is evident throughout the school.
"The curriculum is fully inclusive, with all pupils making excellent progress according to their abilities and communication skills."
