Spalding Flower Parade bingo night brings in the cash
There were calls of 'legs eleven' and 'little ducks' at a special fundraising event.
Just under 100 people made their way to the Spalding Services Club for a bingo night in aid of the town's revived Flower Parade.
Thursday's event, which had been organised by Angela Newton before her death, was a huge success, bringing in more than £1,000 for the parade.
Stephen Timewell paid tribute to Angela on the night. He said: "When I started the campaign, Angela was straight on me and wanted to anything to help. In a short space of time she did amazing things.
"We will be paying tribute to her at the parade."
Coun Andrew Woof, vice chairman of South Holland District Council, called out the numbers on the night, with ten games of bingo to have a go at with a chance of winning cash or chocolate.
An additional game of bingo had a £110 prize to be won, followed by an auction and raffle.
Speaking after the bingo night, Steve said: "It was a great night and I was totally blown away by the support.
"At the end, we said we had nearly hit £1,000 so people started coming up to us and giving us what they had. It was incredible.
"Everyone had a great time and we can't wait to do it again."
Another Spalding Flower Parade bingo night will take place at the same venue on Thursday, October 20.
