Part of A16 shut due to ‘multi-vehicle crash’ between Pinchbeck and Surfleet

Part of the A16 is currently shut following a ‘multi-vehicle crash’.

The stretch of the road between Pinchbeck and Surfleet has been closed in both directions.

Eyewitnesses have also reported seeing air amblulances at the scene.

A Lincolnshire Police sttaement read: “We are currently at the scene of a serious collision involving multiple vehicles on the A16 in Spalding.

“The incident was called in to us just after 12.30pm and is thought to have taken place in the Holbeach Road area.

“A number of roads are closed in the area and motorists are asked to avoid the area.”

An update from AA Traffic states: “Road closed and queueing traffic due to multi-vehicle crash on A16 both ways in Spalding.

“The sensors indicate that the road is now fully closed.”
