Movember 2019: Spalding barber shaves off his beard for the first time in nearly eight years for charity

Spalding barber Steve Jackson underwent a dramatic transformation when he shaved off his beard for the first time in nearly eight years.

It was all to support Movember UK, which raises money for research into prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

Cheered on by on-lookers and friends, Steve (28) shaved off his beard, which measured about 8-9 inches long, at a charity event at shop 888 Vapour in Sheep Market, Spalding.

"It's like looking at a different person when I look in the mirror," he said.

But he won't be 'hairless' for long as he's already starting growing back a moustache to help mark Movember.

One of his charity boxes has already brought in £385. You can donate in boxes around Spalding in 888 Vapour, Pacey's Bakery in Red Lion Street, the South Holland Centre and Strange Apparitions at Baytree Garden Centre in Weston.
