A police guard remains outside a South Holland shop which was raided last night.

Alarm bells are still ringing out as the green Land Rover remains lodged within the window of the Lincolnshire Coop store in West Street Crowland. The Long Sutton store has also been targeted.

Lincolnshire Coop says it will be working with police on its investigations. The Lincolnshire Press and Spalding Guardian have approached the police for a comment but has not received a response.

A Coop spokesman said: "We use guidance from the police, cash machine providers and security experts to ensure we are following the latest procedures and we have numerous security measures in place in our stores.

“We’ll be working with Lincolnshire Police on their investigations and will aim to get both stores back open as soon as possible.”

This is believed to be the third time in as many years that the Crowland store has been raided.
