Plans to bring KFC and Taco Bell to Spalding receive boost
Plans to bring KFC and Taco Bell to Spalding could be a step closer after no major objections have been lodged.
Erindale Ltd submitted an application to South Holland District Council to build the restaurants as part of The Gateway Project earlier this year.
The Environment Agency and Lincolnshire Police raised no objections to the plan.
Nigel Burch, manager of the council's Inward Investment team, said he supported the creation of up to 60 jobs and training workers up to degree level where appropriate.
South Holland Draining Board confirmed that if the plans are to go ahead, a surface water development contribution must be paid. They also said Erindale Ltd will need consent to make alterations to an existing watercourse at the site.
Anglian Water also said permission will be required for any work which diverts or crosses over their assets. Lincolnshire County Council's Highways team do “not wish to restrict the grant of permission.”
Steve Branson of South Holland District Council and Sue Armour, an Environmental Protection Officer, raised no concerns over the project.
This will come as a welcome boost to Erindale Ltd, who plan to build the restaurants at the Lincs Gateway Business Park on Goodison Road.
They will be the latest assets to The Gateway project, which hopes to create 500 to 1000 jobs over the next decade at the business park.
If successful, the plans will bring KFC and Taco Bell to Spalding for the first time.
