Man charged after £1million pounds worth of pills were found in a raid on a Whaplode St Catherine property




A 47-year-old man has been charged after more than £1 million worth of pills were discovered in a house in Whaplode St Catherine.

Specialist officers raided a home in Cranesgate North on Wednesday (November 29) when they found pill presses, powders including Diazepam and anabolic steroids in a hidden room of a house and an outside container located in Sutton St James.

Paul Tallo (47) of Cranesgate North, was arrested at the property. He was questioned and charged with supplying anabolic steroids, supplying Class C drugs, producing Class C drugs and producing anabolic steroids. He was remanded to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today (Friday).

A 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of two counts of possession of class C drugs, production of anabolic steroids, production of controlled Class C drugs. She has been released on bail while investigations continue.

Acting Detective Sergeant Helen Morris said: “We acted on intelligence and carried out the warrant at the property. A vast number of pills were located, and these will be analysed in due course. While we are still working to establish the total of amount of pills located, we expect the figure to be in the high thousands.

“Stopping the manufacture of these drugs has removed a significant risk to the public.

“Steroids sit in a legal grey area between a medicine and a banned recreational drug. As a class C substance they are illegal to sell or deal unless they are prescribed by a doctor for medical reasons.”

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with any information can call police on 101, and quote incident 43 of 30 November.
