Long Sutton put under Dispersal Order powers to stop Halloween disturbances
Police had extra powers at their disposal to deal with trouble and disorder in parts of Long Sutton at the weekend.
A Dispersal Order was in place for Winfrey Park, Bull Lane, West Street, Market Place and Trafalgar Square between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
The action was in response to fears of anti-social behaviour over Halloween and during the period, which lasted more than 15 hours, anyone causing trouble would be banned from the area.
A statement on social media from the South Holland Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "The order allows officers to require a person who has committed, or is likely to commit, anti-social behaviour to leave any of the areas above and not return within a specific time.
"A person given a notice who fails to comply with it commits an offence.
"This is in response to concerns about anti-social behaviour and disorder in these areas."
