Dog walker was assaulted in Surfleet




A dog walker was assaulted after being asked to hand over his phone and wallet in a village.

Police are investigating the attempted robbery after a man was approached near the Riverside Pub in Station Road, Surfleet, yesterday (Monday, June 24).

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.

A force spokesman said: “A man was walking his dog at around 8.20am yesterday near the Riverside Pub on Station Road when he was approached by a man and a woman.

“The man was reportedly asked to hand over his phone and his wallet and was then assaulted.

“The man and the woman were believed to have left the scene by going into the woods.”
