Holbeach St Matthew rave - police ask public to identify people shown in images

Police investigating an illegal rave at a South Holland beauty spot have today (Thursday) released a series of images showing people they are looking for.

Four men were arrested and five officers were injured at the unauthorised event at Shep Whites , off Barge Road, Holbeach St Matthew, in the early hours of Sunday, September 20.

It is thought that at least 200 people were at the rave which Police and Crime Commissioner Marc Jones later described as "beyond stupid and totally irresponsible".

The images have been taken from body-worn cameras used by police while breaking up the rave.

Inspector Nick Waters, South Holland sector neighbourhood policing inspector, said: "This gathering was in clear contravention of the legislation at the time and those involved put themselves and the community at risk.

"Incidents involving such a high number of people can make it difficult for officers to deal with everyone at the time.

"But we can investigate afterwards and these images from police body-worn cameras are an example of that."

Anyone who recognises any of the people shown in the images, or has information about what happened, should call Holbeach Police Station on 101, quoting incident number 60 of September 20.
