Moulton Garden Crawl and Scarecrow festival was a big success

Beautiful gardens and fun scarecrows attracted hundreds of people.

Nearly 500 people are believed to have visited Moulton’s Garden Crawl and Scarecrow Festival last Saturday and Sunday.

A total of 17 scarecrows - including one of television presenter Jeremy Clarkson - were on display in the village.

Visitors also enjoyed a stroll around 17 stunning gardens around the village. There were 21 homes taking part in a yard sale.

The event raised a fantastic £2,300 for Moulton Village Hall and Community Centre.

One person who was really pleased with the event’s success was organiser Mandy Baker - who had taken on the reins for the first time.

She said: “At one point on Saturday, the village green and the area around it was full of people.

“We had people return on Sunday who hadn’t been able to see everywhere on the Saturday.

“The team who worked with me were brilliant. It was a really good day for helpers and it was nice having so many people and a great atmosphere.”

The event will return in 2027 when it will celebrate its 40th anniversary.
