The Works to shut store at Weston's Baytree Garden Centre, but Spalding store to remain open

A popular high street store is preparing to close a branch in the area.

The Works have confirmed to this paper they are set to shut their store based at Baytree Garden Centre in Weston.

A spokesperson for The Works said: “We can confirm that we will be closing our Baytree Garden Centre store after close of trade on April 30.

"This has been a great location for The Works, but sadly the landlord has decided to take the space back and use it for different purposes.

"Fortunately, the closest The Works store is only 1.6 miles away at the nearby Springfields Factory Outlet, which is where we’ve been able to relocate the Baytree Garden Centre store staff.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this closure and hope that customers continue to shop with us at our store in Spalding or online.”

Baytree general manager Nigel Wallis said the decision to leave the site was made by The Works and not the garden centre.
