Spalding pub The Red Lion announces it is taking over the bars at South Holland Centre

A town pub has announced that it has taken over the bars at the South Holland Centre.

The Red Lion says it will be taking over the contract at the Spalding Market Place theatre from Sunday, December 3 – and wants to do its bit to ensure that site ‘does not disappear from the high street’.

In recent years, the bars at the centre have been run by Ayscoughfee Cafe and Moninna’s restaurant.

In a social post issued this weekend the Market Place pub states: “We have been awarded the tender of the bars at the fantastic South Holland Centre.

“We officially start our contract on the 3rd December, just in time to help refresh you through a busy panto season!

“We have lots of plans to help make the offering amazing, including the installation of the delicious range of drinks we already provide at The Red Lion, a popcorn machine, slush machine and we’re currently talking to local businesses about all things sweet and chocolatey.

“You’ll see some of the friendly and familiar faces from The Red Lion working alongside the awesome team at The South Holland as well as new ones who will be starting with us soon.

“We’d like to help make the experience more enjoyable for everyone so that this magnificent centre can stay and not be something else that disappears from the high street.

“So if you haven’t already done so, head online and buy those pantomime tickets now to help support a local business!”
