The Lincolnshire Poacher in Spalding to reopen in late June 2022 under new owner Cameron Bean

The new owner of a popular town pub hopes to open by the end of this month.

Cameron Bean (24) has taken over at The Lincolnshire Poacher in Spalding - and plans to open the doors before the start of July.

Renovations are currently taking place at the Double Street venue, with a number of new beers set to be delivered in time for the opening day - including Stella Artois and Kronenbourg.

Mr Bean has left behind a career in the building trade to take on the pub, and he is excited for a new chapter.

"I guess this is a new adventure for me," he said.

"It’s new to me, but I’ve got people around me who’ve worked in the industry before who are helping me out. So I’ve built the team, and it’s a learning curve from now.

"I’ve got a good feeling about it."

The likes of Sky Sports and BT Sport will be available when The Poacher reopens later this month.

Mr Bean has also lined up a number of live bands to perform at the pub, with further details to be announced soon.

He added: "We’re trying to keep the pub as original as possible. I guess with me being a young owner, people might think it’ll be a lot of young people coming in - but I’m trying to keep it as family-orientated as possible.

"We’re going to do food, we’re going to welcome dogs, we’ll do food for dogs and put water bowls out.

"I’m trying to keep it as original as possible, as a British pub basically."
