New Long Sutton Market layout receives positive response

The new layout for Long Sutton market has received a positive response.

Shoppers have returned to the town centre today (Friday, July 3) to browse around the stalls which were laid out for the first time in the middle of Market Place.

Concerns were raised last month when there were fears that the market would have to move to a nearby car park but luckily an agreement has been reached between South Holland District Council, Lincolnshire County Council along with businesses and traders to enable a road closure.

And from the looks of a bread and cake stall, which had only a few items left, the new lay out has received the thumbs up from shoppers.

Ward members district councillors Jack Tyrrell and David Wilkinson have been delighted with the response.

Coun Tyrrell said: "It has been brilliant. We have had a lot of positive comments and even the shopkeepers and the traders are bringing their tables and chairs onto the streets."

Coun Wilkinson said: "Francis Pryor the archaeologist visited and said it was absolutely fantastic and was really positive. It's been a really good day."
