Potential flood and travel problems as Yellow Warning issued across Lincolnshire
Flood and heavy rain warnings have been issued for residents across Lincolnshire and surrounding areas.
Travel disruption may also be expected today (Monday, January 1) and tomorrow due to the downpour.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning across the East Midlands, while the Govenment’s website has updated a number of flood alerts for the area.
Heavy rain is expected to fall between 5pm today and 9pm tomorrow.
“Heavy rain falling on saturated ground is likely to cause some travel disruption,” the Met Office warned.

“Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible.
“Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer. Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer.”
Government flood alerts were last updated yesterday (Sunday, December 31).
It states that forecasts predict flooding inside properties is possible by the Lower River Ancholme and surrounding areas.
Across the county, the public have been warned to ‘avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded’.
Yellow warnings are issued when it is believed the weather may cause low-level impacts.
The areas with flood warnings in Lincolnshire and surrounding areas include:
Bain Catchment – River Bain from Goulceby to Tattershall, including the River Waring.
Barlings Eau and Duckpool Catchwater – Barlings Eau and Tributaries from Langworth to Short Ferry and Duckpool Catchwater from Gautby to Stixwould. Tributaries may also affect Welton, Dunholme, and Scothern.
East and West Glens – East and West Glen Rivers from Ropsley to Kates Bridge, including Little Bytham, Edenham, Toft, Manthorpe, and Braceborough.
Lincoln Watercourses – Witham, Sincil Dyke, Great Gowts Drain, Fossdyke Canal, Boultham Drain, Brayford Pool.
Lower River Witham – Lower River Witham from Lincoln to Boston. Tributaries may also affect Woodhall Spa, Coningsby, South Kyme, and Bardney.
Witham in North Kesteven – River Witham and its tributaries from Claypole to Lincoln.
Witham in South Kesteven – River Witham and its tributaries from South Witham to Claypole.
Lower Welland – Lower Welland and other watercourses from Stamford to Spalding, including Market Deeping and Spalding.
Welland Valley – Welland Valley and River Jordan from Braybrooke to Stamford, including Braybrooke, Market Harborough, Welham, Harringworth, and Stamford.
Rase and Upper Ancholme – River Rase and tributaries from Market Rasen to Bishopbridge and the River Ancholme down to Bishopbridge.
River Steeping – iver Steeping between Tetford and Wainfleet, including Stockwith Mill, Partney, Croft and Wainfleet. Tributaries may also affect Great Steeping.
River Trent from Cromwell Weir to Gainsborough – River Trent from Cromwell Weir to Gainsborough including The Flood Road, A156, Dunham Road and Gainsborough Road.
River Till – The River Till and its Tributaries upstream of the Till Washlands.
River Devon and Smite – River Devon, Smite and tributaries from Knipton to the River Trent at Newark on Trent.
River Idle – River Idle and tributaries from West Drayton to the confluence with the River Trent.
River Trent in Nottinghamshire – River Trent in Nottinghamshire from Castle Donington to Cromwell Weir.
River Eau in Scotter – River Eau in Scotter including Gainsborough Road.
Lower River Anchoime – Bishopbridge, Brandy Wharf, Brigg, and South Ferriby. Tributaries may also affect Waddingham, Redbourne, Moortown, and Hibaldstow.
