Opening date revealed for Spalding Poundland store

Spalding's new Poundland store will open on Saturday, September 4.

The budget retailer is opening in the 8,000 sq ft former B&M unit, next to Lidl in the Winsover Centre.

This will be Poundland's 400th store in the UK and Ireland to contain a PEP&CO clothing shop inside.

It will employ 24 people, including eight temporary members of staff, and already has signs in the windows to announce its arrival.

As well as clothing and homewear, the store will also sell chilled and frozen food as part of the firm's 'project Diamond Ice'.

Poundland commercial director, Tim Bettley, said: “It’s great to reach the milestone of 400 PEP&CO shop-in-shops as we have steadily grown to be one of the UK’s biggest and most popular clothing retailers.

“What better way to do it than opening the new store in Spalding which will showcase the best of what Poundland has to offer.”

The news confirms the town's worst kept secret - with Poundland's arrival expected now for several months.
