Spalding takeaway Hot & Spicy and mini market Fantasia have premises licence reviews delayed due to coronavirus

Two businesses in Spalding have had their premises licence reviews adjourned due to the coronavirus.

The takeaway, Hot & Spicy in New Road, was due to have its licence reviewed at the end of March, under the Food Safety Act and after apparently employing an illegal worker, following evidence from police.

That review has now been adjourned until Thursday, June 11, to be heard by South Holland District Council.

The mini market Fantasia, on Bourne Road in Spalding, was also due to have its licence reviewed last month.

Lincolnshire Police applied to the district council to review the premises licence of the store after gaining evidence ‘in relation to unlicensed/foreign medicines under the Human Medicine Regulations 2012.’

The application from police for the review also added that evidence has been received in relation to ‘marketing unsafe food past the use by’ date.
